Inside

Topic: LostLove

I have looked into your soul,
The place where no one else goes,
Tears that flow down your face,
I touch the places that you fear most.

Life has given its greatest treasure,
Into my life you have come with trepidation,
Capturing my soul with your inner most secrets,
I touch you with love in every breath I breathe.

I understand the pain that love can give,
Trying to find the roads and paths,
Tearing you apart and breaking you heart,
Not knowing where to turn.

There is a place where your soul can travel,
After pain has filled your lungs like drowning water,
It lies beyond the sea of torment and degradation,
There I wait to take you in my arms.

Love has no rhyme or reason,
It haunts the caverns of our souls,
We think all is lost but it survives,
Never dying but hiding in the heart.

I have seen you when your walls are down,
The place where only I have gone,
I hold your soul next to mine when I sleep,
Giving you all I have to give, and loving you on the inside.

WOW! This was so beautifully written. I can imagine how painful it must be for you not having the one you love love you in return. My heart brakes for you, but this is a beautiful poem. You should share it with her. You not only tell the reader about how you are feeling but you show us.
I enjoyed this very much.

There were so many wonderful parts, but I REALLY enjoyed the last stanza. "loving you on the inside" It's unfortunate that your love doesn't know how truly loved she is by you.
Keep your chin up and keep on writing,
LW

I know we all hate lost love and the pain we have to go through, but as writers, at least we get to write such wonderful things as this. Don't get me wrong though, I would trade every poem I've ever written to have back the love I lost. Good job - you have an undescribable talent.
