Simple Love

Contributed by Kitty06 on Sunday, 31st July 2005 @ 11:36:06 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

My pencil flies across the page
'I's are not dotted
'T's are not crossed
But it doesn’t matter now
All my ideas must be written down
Every fragment of this inspiration must be captured
For tonight I write of a pure kind of pleasure

I slept with the one I love most
His legs were intertwined with mine
Our soft gentle breathing came and went in unison
His arms embraced me in a protective shield against the dark
My fears melted away that night
All I felt was love and warmth
His fingers stroking my hair to lull me to sleep
His fingers caress my face and he kisses my cheek

A moment so pure and so simple
Just like my favorite form of affection:
A light kiss on the forehead

Love does not always have to be heated to be wonderful and exciting
Breathing the same breath is just as enticing
As simple as this moment can be, it is of great magnitude to he
For it means I trust him, totally and unquestioned
For I have been hurt in the past
I have been cut and I have been used
I flinch at the name who brought on that abuse
But that night is over and this one has begun
My beautiful night of happiness with the one I love

What a wonderful feeling you convey with this poem. It gave me a fresh outlook, alot of us here are so used to sleeping with our spouses and signif others that we have forgotten what that very first time, lying next to each other and simply being & feeling & loving felt like. Thank you for opening my eyes. Great write!
