Close your eyes to me, amore
Let your vision cloud with the night
Illusion has settled back to the norm
Reality has come to light
Douse your fire for me, amore
Let the rain now quench your thirst
The flames will die down to embers
And eventually disperse
Dry your tears for me, amore
A silver trail runs down your cheek
Your emotions make you humble
The show of feelings, unique
Turn your face from me, amore
These feelings were not meant to be
Gather them into a gossamer pouch
And keep them safe for me.
