Path to Suppression

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Saturday, 30th July 2005 @ 09:34:31 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

The rope has been dropped down
but you have failed to climb
Metaphoric S.O.S cast into the sea
a prize has been issued that nobody will collect
Flashlight shone in that cold, dark place
But no one was home to see
Prayers have been answered
for the tears that wept
Long after the last had fallen
He was sought in the middle of the night
although the voice failed to penetrate his ears
Words penned so carefully, sealed
mailed it off to the wrong address
A phone call to speak unspoken
Hello, static, then a disconnect
Answers spilling out with emotion
to questions that now cease to matter
The most fantastic red burst of a sunrise
but alas, it was really a sunset...

Goosebump sad Scorp..
very moving:

"Prayers have been answered
for the tears that wept
Long after the last had fallen"

also, it's so refreshing to see some work
that doesn't have the first letter of every line
capitalized.. (an outdated and frowned upon manner of composition among prolific, present day writers)
which you are Scorp..a prolific writer..

As Always..

Billy

i had to read this poem a couple of times, thought i still cant grasp its meaning completly. seems personal. anyways i thought what you did here was great. the irony, the imagery, tthe suspense to get to the end, only to have to read over again, and thats great! you make the reader think, wonder, question. and thats what writings should do. great job.

Someday your special Mr. Right will come along. I have found that when we quit looking and just let the Universal spirits do their work we end up with the best of the best. This is a lovely piece of work, Scorpapita. I am sorry if you are sad at the moment, but we are learning from each heartache to be stronger and wiser.

I found this to be deceitfully vague until I read it a second time and searched the words a little. Then it opened right up, and I believe you are speaking of a love interest, or perhaps a past love who isn't reciprocating your affections. Or is maybe being misleading in their intentions. I hope I'm not being too bold in my speculations. Theorizing aside, I enjoyed this immensely! I thought this was creative with the wording and metaphors, and the irony at the end spoke volumes. Keep writing, this was delightfully intriguing!

Dear Scorp,
I read this one with an open mind Scorp, but I'm afraid I didn't quite get your scope? I know the poem is created with sadness and tears, and for that I'm so sorry. If you have lost someone that you love, or perhaps he's just be misplaced, I hope you will find him soon, if that be your wish.
Warm love
consue

This poem is quite abstract, which I like, but that leaves the write open to various interpretations; and I'm not sure I understood it completely. It does, to me, seem like the poem deals with missed opportunity for love. Like these two people keep missing making a connection; or loosing each other and they cannot find each other?

Very impressive, Scorp

Will

Very fine writing.. i've noticed too that the style you write in has changed a bit.... to a much more introspective and enigmatic side. But, it's all good and very much welcome!

take care scorp

My friend u write with such sadness and deep emotion. U captivate the reader leaving them guessing on what u r really talking about in ur poem. I feel sadness and pain in ur heart my dear friend. I hope that all is well with u. Otherwise an outstanding very well penned piece of poetry.
May the rays of happiness shine through ur heart my friend.
Hugs,
Dreamer
