Deadly memories

Topic: DarkPoetry

your memory is the blade that is slowly killing me
in the silence of my dreams, i have entered another world
one wilth you right by my side,
nearer than before,
your souless, but there
i can hear the tearing of my heart,
as i wake knowing your not there,
the peices falling at my feet,
as i surrender to defeat,
i do not understand how your words echo through my mind,
how your face is there every where i turn,
only to turn invisable,
How many times are you going to leave me??
forgeting about you is not an option,
its hard enough to drown out the voices,
alone i break, realizing im out of choices,
death would not save me,
God would not take me,
this whole time hes been simply watching the Devil break me down,
I've come to enjoy looking down to see
this razor blade kissed wrist,
Grown immune to the pain the rigid metal brings,
Found the saltiness of tears satisfying,
Come to learn that i can never let go of,
the blade your memory burdens upon me....

I really liked your poem- it really shows what its like to lose someone. Two of my friends died in a car accident last year so I know whats it's like, they were just teenagers.

Anyways great metaphors and you have lots of lines that just stick in my head, here's a couple.

"i can hear the tearing of my heart,
as i wake knowing your not there"

"this razor blade kissed wrist"

I really like how you compare the memory of someone to a blade as well, it's a good way to put it.

One last thing, I know you think God wouldn't take you, but have you tried asking Him with everything you have? Cuz if He said no, I don't think it's the same God I'm following.

a brilliant poem...i can truly say i know exactly how you feel....i was in a car crash recently and my two best friends died, my sister committed suiside a few weeks ago. i have been a cutter, it really helps 2 speak to someone but in my case that person is dead. i hope eveything works out for you, i know it is SO hard 2 move on coz it feels like every1 you love is leaving you and theres no1 2 turn2 and to a degree that is true but every1 dies oneday and they will always love you jus as much as they did before, cutting makes it worse honestly does and you will see that wen you stop. best wishes x
