Foil (Found Once In Life)

Contributed by flirtyrockstar on Sunday, 12th January 2003 @ 07:30:00 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Keep the candle burning soft
Tint the sky with crimson
Comfort air with incense
And everything life lives in.
Free the souls within this room
That hide beneath our eyes
Free the souls within the frames
Captured in demise.

Free your mind of all the worry
Everything making life so blurry
Anything anyone once said,
Lies, now, meaninglessly dead.

Do not sleep soundly here tonight
For I shall lose you to the light.
Once you're gone and darkness falls,
I've lost the greatest thing of all.

For shadows like to find revenge
Within the folds of time
And all the sins that you once sinned
Are now the greatest crimes.
So hide yourself away tonight
Shadows aren't the key
So hide within the safest light,
-Come hide away with me.

Hey, Liz I enjoyed this one a lot I think it was one of my favourite poems that I have read of yours. This was very well written and I totally agree love is the greatest gift and the greatest pain. I'm searching for more words to describe your poem, but I have none.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
