unmasking you

Contributed by that_gypsy_fire on Friday, 29th July 2005 @ 12:24:10 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

confess your sins to the virgin Mary
bow down, and exalt
its what youre here for, isnt it?
you were all dressed up on Sunday,
but church didnt seem so pretty,
did it?
go back to where you came from.
dig up the carrot patch,
and find your roots there.
sing me a song once you do,
and in it,
discover yourself-
and uncover to the world what you're so afraid of showing.

No offence but speaking on Sunday, it is not the sabbath day, it is not the day everybody should worship, Saturday is the actualy day since it is the seventh day of the seventh month I believe it is called, because it goes Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wenesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, count all of the days and you will find out that Saturday should be the proper day to worship now I am not trying to tell you what to do but that is what I believe, but then again I really do not know if I believe, I liked your write though, it was good.

well I believe that Sunday is the day you should worship, maybe that's just because it was how I was raised and it's all I know... but I like this write nonetheless, good job

hello everyone.. thanks for commenting. this poem didn't really have anything to do with religion at all... it was more about discovering your own beliefs and exposing yourself to the world the way you are. I'm not even a very religious person.. more spiritual than anything. I just wanted to clear that up so the write didn't get misunderstood. thanks for the input, though. - Katie

Regardless of the day you chose, this poem spoke of more than that to me. It said, "I see what you protect because you fear and I have uncovered/unmasked you and discover yourself and let me in."

Now this is just my humble opinion but....

I tell you that it got to me and I think you have done a fine job on this one...

I agree with Dreamer In regards to broken_rose's comment..
you didn't mention that Sunday was the Sabbath..
and more often than not, people go to Church on Sunday..

That being said..I also agree with kie's comment..
on how you speak of this person .. (uncovering to the world
what they're so afraid of showing)

Great write.
