whispers

Contributed by dragos099 on Friday, 29th July 2005 @ 07:40:30 AM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Whispers, sighs, promises forgotten
Remembering the past
Trying to forget the future
Still memories are hard to face

Shining through time
A love long gone
It feeds the mind
And consumes the heart

Words killing the last shred of hope
Like swords are cutting through the soul
Leaving open wounds
Just waiting for time to pass

Scars remain for all eternity
To tell the story that only they know
In the silence of the night
They start to bleed again and show their woe.

Believing in an outcome
But remembering the pain
The diamond heart has turned to stone
In the middle of the river it now stands alone.

It is a double edged sword when one comes across the path of a kindred spirit.

Well done.

great poem.

"Scars remain for all eternity
To tell the story that only they know
In the silence of the night
They start to bleed again and show their woe"

I liked that part especially, and I think we've all been there at one point or another. nice job
