Gratified Discharge

Contributed by Mangos on Thursday, 28th July 2005 @ 08:02:16 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Who ever said love was a gift
Never unwrapped the entire package

Whenever I see a child who gives
I am inclined to think that when grown up to become attractive

Wherever I may choose to roam or eventually live
I pray that I am surrounded by continuous kindness

At any corner of this earth
You are sure to find a human life worth

Saving the end of the rope
For the corpse in the dirt

Who ever said forgive and forget
Has never once been tortured by an unshakable craving

At any moment I can appear from thin air
And sneak behind you as your busy pretend working

Put my arms around you
And with a shrug an embrace not worth reciprocating

And then I am gone, gratified
Lost to a collage of clutter on the fringe of discharge

And then I am gone, gratified
Lost to a collage of clutter on the fringe of discharge

Never to return
I have found a love that I cherish from the inside

Not what I expected..
(lest the title.. lol)

..but after reading the first few lines,
I knew what to expect from the rest.
A great scribe, well written.
I love the two line composition..

I had a moment of thought at each-
a very clear message.. these words.

I enjoyed it very much.

I like the message in this write...there's a depth to your words that (hopefully) doesn't go undetected. I like your opening line, it drew me right in, and how very true...There is many, many layers to love, and it's not all pretty...This part stood out for me:

"Who ever said forgive and forget
Has never once been tortured by an unshakable craving..."

I can relate to that part especially well...and the ending...how wonderfully positive! Good job.

Scorp.
