"Feign"
Two times the fool, I have been removed
I can see the past on every drop of rain
A broken child, broken as rain, couldn't change
A broken child, who cracks became, remained the same
Couldn't bring myself to come to life for you
Couldn't become a marionette for you
I feel that I have fallen behind
I feel that I have lost control of my life
And like a train I only know what the tracks bring
It's unsettling, I need someone to be someone for me to cling
Lately I have feigned my every laugh
I have been a deceiver to all my friends
I'm scared to show what lies within so I pretend
I'm scared to know what could begin so I tear the skin
I'm drowning in a pool of despair
But could I try to mend what's there?
Would it even be worth it?
'Cause hopes always imperfect

wow! i like this one . . . the structure, rhyming and imagery was just heavy!
i was totally into the strength of these two lines
Couldn't bring myself to come to life for you
Couldn't become a marionette for you
