I am from needles and insulin
Doctors and blood sugar checking
From good grades and honor roll
Nights of staying up early, Mornings of sleeping late
I am from pool party ruining, hurricanes, tropical storms and hail
From getting mad, getting even, and stomping up the stairs
And From an older brother who was, and always be.... My hero
I am from great friends I could confess anything to
(Because they were never listening anyway)
From egg hunts on Easter, eating with family on Thanksgiving, and best wishes for years to come on birthdays
I am from watching scary movies
(That I knew would cause nightmares)
And watching sad movies
(That I knew would make me cry)
I am from Barbie, Ken and the color pink
From obsessing over the Spice Girls, crying over everything, and getting over it all
I am from FCAT testing and scoring a five on the Florida Writes
From the dream of becoming a shark biologist, forensic scientist, and a chef
I am from a fourth grade teacher who didn't believe in me...
And all the ones to follow that do
I am from nicknames, boardgames, and a family that was always there
From a whole lot of sarcasm, eight years of diabetes, a love of using big words....
And a lifetime of memories I can't ever forget!
