What you always wanted

Contributed by xsitm on Monday, 25th July 2005 @ 03:57:44 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I used to be so warm
I used to feel so much
But time has changed me for the worse
It’s changed me far too much

I no longer care for anything
Not for a single word you say
My resentment turns to anger
Then slowly to decay

And so my dear all is lost
Upon this starry night
And I could care less for you
And your precious life

But don’t call me a jerk
Or tell me I’m an ass
And don’t you dare try to say
That I have no class

The truth is I’m just cold
And careless to the core
Sick of my old heart
That will beat no more

But here is your last wish
What you wanted all along
A piece of writing just for you
That might one day become a song

And it will be the tune
I’ll be singing at your wake
After all I never cared
I am the perfect fake

And like all things affected
I’m cheap and mostly empty
Hollowed to the core
I’ve lost my soul you see

And I’m no longer afraid of the dark
Because the greatest evil lives in me

Wow!... the last two lines are perfect!
for a second I thought I felt your pain...
but it's just my own
