She liked him.
He liked her.
A lot.
The way he moved.
The way she smiled.
The way he talked all tough.
The way she laughed just enough.
It was perfect but it wasn't meant to be.
He was a harsh reminder of what she'd loved and lost.
She was a harsh reminder of what he'd left behind.
Both wanted it; neither would act upon it.
He was too "him"- her other him.
She was too "her"- his other her.
So the next great love story never happened.
They never had their chance.
Each bound by memories of another.
The spectacular firsts never occured.
How could they have?
Memories are a far stronger trap than reality.
So, it never happened.

| It would be hard to live with the thought that you let love go and it pasted you by. You would always wonder if that was the one. I’m glad I never let my love pass me by. A good write that was much enjoyed, take care….Steve |

| I really enjoyed this.. you should always give love a chance.. rather it turns out to be true or not you'll never know unless you close your eyes and just go for it.. great write.. sarah |
