Pen, paper and heart.........
Pen, paper and heart.
They're all that remain.
This trio of comfort,
keeps me from going insane.
Pen, paper and heart.
Medicine for my mind.
I've tried other cures.
Peace, is so hard to find.
Pen, paper and heart.
Reminds me of what was real.
Maybe I should forget.
Maybe then, I'd heal.
Pen, paper and heart.
No need to speak.
Releasing all my torment.
When finished, I'm left weak.
Paper and heart.
My thoughts have run dry.
No longer spawned by ink.
So many times I've asked, "Why"?
Paper and heart.
An empty sheet of vast potential
Uncompromising heartache.
Written words are essential.
The heart.
The last of a dying breed.
Keeper of hopes and dreams.
Now bearer of an undying need.
The heart.
Meant for you, my one and only.
Now, no longer with a purpose.
Growing weaker, feeling lonely.
Reborn.
Without warning, a light floods my soul.
Shining on past memories and desire.
I've reached for you in parts, but not the whole.
Reborn.
Rewinding back to the very start.
I'm reminded of our genesis.
When I conquered you with pen, paper and heart.

| Very well done. Lonely in the heart but unlifting in the soul which leaves a delicate touch when reading it. The last two lines steal the show. Nice... |
