Captain’s Dilemma

Contributed by spike on Friday, 22nd July 2005 @ 04:11:53 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I locked away all those things,
That reminded me that love has wings
For when I fall its hard and fast
- And romance never lasts.

So I put aside and sealed with locks,
My heart within its memory box
Then dug a hole deep, deep within
- And buried all my sin.

To dull the pains I can’t abide,
My only choice was seal and hide
But then came time to let them free
- And now I’ve lost the key.

If by chance you know a trick,
To help a heart become lovesick
Then work your magic hard and fast
- Because romance never lasts.

I love the unique honesty of this. I certainly wish I could help, but I am locked behind a tall wall I built when my last love died and I closed myself in and cannot get out.

We who struggle for love so hard seem to be the ones that never get it right. Shame.

Well written poem! Awesome job. How true, though. Too often you throw things away, not knowing someday soon you'll be needing it.
Take care.

It sometimes lasts. It did for me. Good poem though.
P.S. If you choose to read a poem or two of mine, I'd like for you to read: Sherry my Love, With good purpose, and The Consolation of Israel. God bless.
