Within the wandering, twisting trails,
Facing the unknown at every turn,
Sword drawn and head held high,
Ignoring the sting of tears that burn,
His Little princess with her head hung low,
Confused by the pleasure and pain,
She wanted to hold him, protect him,
From the steady, warm blood-rain,
When the War was forced upon them,
His journey to her was long,
Heroes from opposing sides,
All proclaiming that they were wrong,
The crimson rain soon flooded the world,
And those who thought them dead,
Were forced to watch as they carried each other,
Above the world that bled,
Those who were filled with hate for them,
Pleaded for a return of their love,
For their love had held each other up,
And lifted them high above,
The Prince and Princess began again,
Their adventure was not through,
Though the scars sometimes burn,
They still make each other New.

This is lovely in a quiet way, convincing, deep
emotions are apparent here, sad, tragic
even, but then love amidst anguish equals a
pain of intolerable proportions . . .
