i miss the times when i was eager
to catch a smile when they would leave her
like butterflies, they would flutter by
the moments i would let her sigh
.......
i wish for times when days were young
when i sat with her through times of fun
dancing slow to a lady in red
feeling my heartbeat's drum instead
......
but memories are not what's right here
she's seems so far yet seems so near
what's been across the span of years
was captured in a few wet tears
.....
memories...memories
raining down....
pouring...pouring...
without a sound...

"what's been across the span of years
was captured in a few wet tears"
It's words like this that make a poem so heartfelt, meaningful, and worth remembering.

Very effective piece here Dwayne...I really like this one. It's not complicated, yet you still expressed yourself so well...The beginning and ending were both exceptional! Well done: )

What a write DW one of your best in my book and much enjoyed my friend. Their were some great lines in it and it was written very well. I really like the composition of it and the way you broke it down. I really liked these lines.
dancing slow to a lady in red
feeling my heartbeat's drum instead
what's been across the span of years
was captured in a few wet tears
Talk about imagery, you really took my mind away with this write. The last stanza was also a great ending to this write. Take care my friend and keep up the great writes as always they are much enjoyed….Steve |

How beautiful! I love the rhythym this poem has...much like a rainy day it had a sound all of it's own. Such beautiful memories portrayed in a lovely poem.
I enjoyed it much,
