Am I friend or foe?
You don’t know
And if you assume
It could mean doom
The mistakes been made
I was never your slave
Instead I led
You warriors of dread
I am a Marine
Who goes unseen
Into the night
To continue the fight
I send reinforcements
To strengthen our battlements
You’ve confused my cover
And attacked your runner
Still I carry on
On into the dawn
In hope that you may see
The man I wish to be
I am a Sergeant
This is my movement
I create a unit
And you fine-tune it
Multinational
This is quite rational
So come out of the fog
And hop my frog
My French brethren
My Native Friend
Show them you are here
That they need not fear
They are American
From a foreign land
And with them are Scots
A very fine lot
Neighbors to the north
Who’ll steady the course
Tried since the start
Right before the brain fart
One day you will see
How this came to be
Maybe, maybe not
But it’s a nice thought
Anyway, here I am
Your right and loyal man
Who never went astray
For more than a day
