Standing.
Remote.
Darkness surrounds me.
All alone I shudder.
Outside I sense the cold,
But within I am numb.
Drowning in a sea of turmoil,
Sequestered in the black abyss.
I see a light above,
This light I hate.
The light I know I cannot have,
Any yet I continue to try.
The light torments,
Fills me with rage.
Cuts into my being,
Denying me my life.
The light will never fade,
That which I don't want to reveal,
Will torment me to the grave.
The light, my friend, is you.

In every relationship there should be equality. One on a pedestal (the light); one not ... can never work out.
Well written, my friend :)!
