oops

a vibrant shell
cradling within it
a form in hiding
wincing at daily tasks
more practice,
allows for more
(i'm wearing a mask, don't you see? I'm not me but me, and I'm in control of what's happening out there)
ever-smiling
ever-polite
(whatever role that requests to be filled, really)
chameleon
blending to suit the surroundings
(***** it, can you take me as i am?)
face the honesty
cut through the shell
to reveal the authenticity within
(i'm sick of pretending)

I really like your writing style. It's something I like to call deep simplicity. I highly doubt that's an actual term but its close to what I think of when trying to describe it. |
