Painted frustration

Contributed by In_a_while on Monday, 18th July 2005 @ 12:38:04 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I can't calm my hell, so i might just as well
give in to black waters of hate
i bought some cheap wine, said to hell with the time
and swallowed some grapes of dark fate

then i sat on some stones, that i forgot were my bones
then shivered in shadows of grey
i wonder who's singing, those tunes of tears bringing
and why do the melodies stay?

Cherish the cold!, said the voice of grey old
You're tired and need to be sleeping!
i stared at the wall, and thought i should crawl
but the wind in me just began weeping

cause i can't paint a petal, that inside feels metal
it's somehow not fair to the flower
i must paint for real, the feelings i feel
otherwise it holds no real power...

and now, i'm hungover...

dw

Some good metaphorical speak in this one Dwayne...I like the way you displayed your emotions. Yikes! Some of these lines remind me of days I had...in another lifetime...scary! Don't be giving yourself too many hangovers ya hear?? lol Nice job with this write : )

Wow Dwayne what a write….I’ve been gone for awhile now but what a great write to come back and read. The structure of this write was and is awesome and it flowed so well. You always write great work and have always been one of my favorite poets on the site. I hope things are going okay with you and I hope to read more of your work. Your friend….Steve
