Sometimes I think, you're the needle in my arm,
killing me slowly, like a bad luck charm.
Is happiness worth the cost?
Of disassociation, or how I've lost
the ability to see beyond the purple haze.
I can only see your gaze,
on the faces of other women.
I can only see your mistakes,
when you choose to admit them.
In this world you have made for me,
I only see what you let me see,
my reality is your reality,
it is what you choose to make it.
That's why it hurts when you break it.
Or when you take my truth and shake it.
Take me out of your world,
put me in a cardboard box,
place it in your closet,
tell yourself you'll open it someday.
Leave it there to decay.
I'll save myself for you.
Because I don't know any better.
I'll wait in here for you.
Because I remember when it was better.
And the only reason I wait for you,
while you have fun on the outside,
is because the past keeps me going,
even if it no longer applies.
