The Walk

Contributed by Lone_er on Friday, 10th January 2003 @ 10:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Suddenly I was faced
With the decision of my life
Would I succumb to all my fears
Fall prey to my strife

Once more he beckoned
As He walked upon the sea
And there was no mistaking
He was beckoning to me

I know He is the son of God
Made of sinew and bone
For many times we have hugged
In public and alone

Yet He walks upon the water
Not even His sandals are wet
By far the greatest miracle
I have seen yet

Has He not said
Faith as small as a mustard seed
Could move mountains
Had we not all agreed

Yet around me the storm is raging
The waves billow high
Still He is walking
As if to pass me by

Do not leave me savior
Upon this turbulent sea
For who shall save my life
My Lord if not thee

I will do thy bidding
I shall not trust in flesh
Tho I drown tonight
My soul you shall refresh

His eyes looking into mine
With faith I stand aright
I go to my God
To the Word , the Truth, the Light

Russ

Another beautiful poem, Russ
I believe we have all been faced with trouble at some point in our life, what an awsome God we have that loves us so much and comes to our rescue like you said. Your words remind me that he will always be with me even when I feel like i am sinking. Thanks
