I'm sorry..

I'm sorry, I'm not the person you wanted me to be,
Basically I'm saying I'm sorry I'm me.
I'm sorry I'm not as nice as I could be,
I do try though.. But its only the bad in me that you see.
Maybe I could be a little more serious, and a little less sarcastic,
or perhaps your high standards for me are just unrealistic.
but I hate that I'm constentily to others being compaired
as though I myself am somehow impaired.
I know I can always improve on everything I do,
But should I really have to change myself just for you?
Should I give in and try and change or stand and be tough
and just accept the fact that I'll never be good enough...?
While on the inside I'm screaming "stop belittling me,stop putting me down!"
on the outside I sit their not uttering a sound.
So I'm so sorry If I disapointed you..
but perhaps you should just accept me for me, and try accepting my faults too.
I'm sorry I'm not the person you wanted me to be..
I'm so sorry for being me..
