SHUTTERS TO THE SOUL

SHUTTERS TO THE SOUL

Did you know your eyes tell all?
No one can hide their inner soul,
Spiritual windows reveal our downfall.
Indicating tool for Drs--alive or in Sheol?

Personalities our eyes have like we.
Passionate, yearning, longing, grieving beauty
Hopefulness, Hopelessness, Hospitable.
Sad, regretful, sorry, heart's chuckle.....

Scared, anxious, frightened, worried
Depressed, impressed, repressed, hurried
Forlorn, compassionate, tenderness, sympathy, pity
Angry, hatefulness, vengefulness, enmity, animosity.

Painted for emphasis, an inviting window
Alluring, endearing, hypnotic stare, shadow.
Depth, shallow, understanding, compassionate
Venerable, judging, a sizing up, or edit.

Painful, forgetfulness, worry, despair, agony
Frustration, failure, not fulfilled, can't agree.
Unsuccessful, bring to naught, broken dreams.
Crushed heart, ripped seams, low esteems.

Love lost, loneliness, no natural affection, inhuman
Estrangement from the world, exile, aloofness, beaten.
Giving up, too hard, not worthy, undeserving severe
Troubled, unclear, false veneer, not sincere.

Yes, young or old, our eyes reveal what is in our hearts.
Not knowing, but questioning, with full faith abound.
Wondering, always curious, little thinking sweethearts.
Look into another's eyes, where all their feelings can be found,

Ah, LeAnn is so beautiful. This poem states how I have always felt. I can see your soul in your eyes. That is the first thing I notice about someone. It tells all. No makeup, no special look can cover the openess of the persons soul. Marvelous Connie. As usual. Claire de Lune is one of my favorites of all times.

Much love,
Rita

ConSue, How very true! The eyes are the doorway to the soul. I sometimes see a childs eyes and the tears well up within me. I see the eyes of an eighty year old and I want to smile. This is and has always been my way of judging my friends. If they can stand my piercing gaze for a moment I know whether I may call them friend. Well put Consue and top marks as always hugs from Martha and Bernard.

Glorious ConSue. Oh yes, we know that the eyes are the very windows to the soul.
I appreciate very much your quoting George Herbert, my favorite poet.
Content and pictures simply splendid.
But, I have to state, you pre-empted me.
How would you know.? "Eye-Contact"? -was un preparatin.?
Amazing how poets intuitively feel what is to be brought forward. The pictures are also fabulous, and of course the photo of the little girl of your friend.
Wonderful job!
Warm love
Elizabeth
