Kay

Contributed by nobrainer on Friday, 15th July 2005 @ 11:08:17 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

She was only 16 but already felt old,
They called her a rebel, never listens to what she’s told,
Always one to learn the hard way,
Everyone says, “She’ll learn one day...”
Her name was Kay,
I say, “was” because she would never make it to her 17th birthday.
You see Kay liked to do dares and dangerous stunts to get attention,
She’d laugh in your face if God you were to mention.
Kay didn’t see a line between reality and pretend,
Thru her stunts she had broken many bones, but it was the wounds on her heart that refused to mend.
Then one day when a bad day turned worse,
She ran out of her house with just her keys and her purse,
Never to return she drove away from her home,
Never before had she felt so alone…
Then a deadly thought came to mind, and with that she started to cry
Because she couldn’t take the pain anymore…today she would die.
So she would do one more stunt, one that no one could top!
She put the peddle to the floor and hit the guard rail with a momentary stop.
As her car flew off the bridge,
She knew that thru this she would not live.
the car hit the water with a huge splash,
Kay jerked forward and hit her dead on the dash,
to form a wound on her head that would never have a chance to heal.
Water started seeping in the car and with it her fate it would seal.
Her last words were…” I wish I had a life someone would be willing to save”
And with that that car became her watery grave,
In the morning the cops found the guard rail all broke,
And in her room her parents found a suicide note,
This is what she wrote…
I sorry it had to be this way…
Love,
Kay

Couldn't read it to its end but the beginning was very well written. I only wish that thoughts of suicide would never come into anothers mind. I've dealt with far too many people who thought this way and believe me if you listen to them long enough some of their disease you take away.
