Well Im in love with a girl whos in love with the world
With her eyes on the prize how will she see mine
Her political views hide my frequent glances
While these eyes blue deserve second chances
And I have failed
I have failed to show you that we are all of us world weary
And deserved of the reverence you have so aptly bestowed upon the masses
And the masses, without the individuals who define it crashes
I do not blame you, I blame myself
Grounding you was my intent, but I was caught in your web
Intertwined somewhere between what you say and what you mean
As I struggle against the colors you stubbornly bleed
To shed light on what you really need
You can stand atop a pillar
And see for miles around
But what good does it do
If your feet have never touched the ground
I think its finally time that you come down

its a very good poem very touching.
i think your title is the the title of a song by the white stripes though.
you probally didnt know as they arent brilliantly well known though. |
