I’ll tell you a story of love, commitment, and rain
And of the deceiver and how the whole lie began
You can check your coat at the door
Grab a drink
Loosen up
Then hit the packed dance floor
The saxophones are blastin’
The guitar is jazzin’
And all the women are staring at you
Lokin’ for a little side action
Sit here on the velvet red couch
Hold the straw
At the right angle
Let it just rest on your mouth
Lean back on the cushion
And just chill the hell out
Eyes wandering
From that body part
To where the toes start
And as her hair wraps
And flows
Remove your thinking cap
This is how the night goes
When you’re hooked up like that
Even darker now
The ambiance is a delight
The atmosphere is alive
A surge of dopamine
Thrives
Pumped intravenously
Colored lights dance
The music invades
Man made trance
Suddenly you stand
As if it were banned
You scream out
But no one is around
No one cares

I like this, but not for the story it told...For the story lurking below the surface...The last few lines sound very lonely, and painfully real.

Bravo! This is a very hard-hitting piece. The flow and style is excellent, and the ending very well stated. Such is the emptiness of pleasure, man's substitute for happiness.
I wonder what it would be like if we tried substituting something different? Who knows what the results might be.

The first 3 stanzas were kickin'
then ya threw me down on the floor
and beat the s*** out of me with the last..
and I loved every second of it..
Awesome.
