In This Cold Night

The candle is about to fade,
The cold outside has found its way
Into my home, into my heart.
While gentle snow falls in the dark.
Inside this room, silence befalls.
Is that your voice- my voice it calls?
I feel the air of your sweet breath
Your heart beating inside my head.
I wish I could only have you near,
To feel your body close.
I’d be happy to hold you in my arms
To love you even more.
I’d be happy to have you as a light
To guide me in this night.
Shadows have come – for good to stay
-memories- of those precious days.
I’ve drunk them all, inside my glass.
My bodies numb with red sweet past.
I found the letters we once exchanged.
The words of love you used to say.
And so I dream and hope and pray
That we can live the yesterday.
If I could only know
That, you too are alone.
I’d be happy to bring you close.
I’d be happy to have you as my guide
Through this cold night.
