A coward tells lies
To quickly summarize
And to gain acceptance
Of outright pestilence
He doesn’t come right out and say
We’re going to do it my way
Instead he uses tricks
And so suffers ticks
But if the speech is short
Then his voice will not distort
And his audience will believe
That he would never deceive
And so the coward does hide
Within the human tide
At least for a time
He’ll distract you with dime
But forever is far to long
For a lie to carry this throng
And so in the end
Word he’ll send
In explanation of his actions
And his dubious distractions
To admit what he’s done
So his life you won’t shun
The lesson he didn’t learn
For which all men yearn
Is that honesty carries
While lies do burry
