There is no way that the innocence of a child can be the analogy for a atom bomb. A angst filled teen maybe, not an innocent child. Not in my mind.

| A child is even more likely and a plausible comparision to the atom bomb. This poem is a play on Oppenheimer's famous quote "I have become death the destroyer of worlds". What most people dont know is he also added "creator of worlds". This is like a new child, when cradling the child in your hands one but can't help but wonder what it should do when its older. Will he be a success? A good person? Or a person of evil such as Ted Bundy? Much like the atom bomb, those great scientists didnt truly understand the magnitude of its power. New parents dont understand the power of a child either, it can tear them apart, cause grief, cause strife, turn a happy marriage into a nightmare. One must take care before they have a child, and with raising it, since it is a veritable atom bomb. |
