it's almost that time.
the night shows its face.
one last phone call.
one more attempt to plead my case.
maybe tonight you'll awaken.
maybe tonight you'll be reborn.
could i finally regain my sanity?
can we mend a love that was torn?
confusion reigns daily.
you left without rhyme or reason.
no explanation to a devoted heart.
is there a worse form of treason?
so many times i've tried to resist.
so many times i've tried to fight.
but hopes rules my soul,
so tonight could be the night.
i've dialed the number.
now the journey begins.
a final chance for redemption.
a final chance to bury past sins.
one ring, i'm at the apex of anticipation.
two rings, plunging towards the floor of devastation.
three rings, a broken heart to mend.
four rings, here i am again.
five ri,........."hello"

Aw this was very cute, and well written. I love the structure you have for this it fits perfectly and makes the poem so much better! Well done!! My favorite line is:
"but hopes rules my soul,
so tonight could be the night." (i think it was meant to be 'but hope rules my soul,'* )
Either way I just love this line it seemed kind of creative and different to me... I really like this piece its fun and hopeful yet so very sad...
Nice write! Keep it up!
