It will be frozen smiles
On guarded faces
And forced, unnatural laughter
Because it’s been a while
There’ll be crackers and cheese
And welcomes all round
Because we’re scared and unsure
And trying so hard to please
We’ll hide the hesitation
And the insecurities
And we’ll play happy people
In the name of convention
But it might end in smiles
On unrestrained faces
And warm, lusty laughter
It might all be worthwhile
