The hurricane seemed to tumble as it made its way up the coastline,
Spinning with wide eye and following brow, gray with foam and brine.
That we had electricity and could watch it on radar was a blessing,
Nothing worse than spending the entire night by candlelight guessing
And listening for the roar, the crashing, the warning siren’s wail.
By the time it made north Carolina, the storm was barely a gale,
And landfall caused it to contract, lose rotation and shrink.
The once giant eye closed up like god’s wicked wink
And unless it was your horse that drowned, it wasn’t all that bad.
But dammit I loved that horse.

Oh my friend i am so glad you haven't written anything that is real here....you ever thought about writing something that was true and real in your life?....perhaps that's a silly question coming from a Cookie hehe....beautiful write jim, keep em coming.. i enjoy reading you...
