An Afgan hound has silky hair
Next to the Borzoi who shows a curly affair.
The Clumber spaniel is like a big flabby hog
Compared to the Doberman who is a muscular dog.
The Elkhound sports a curly tail, along with the Finnish spitz
These two differ in color: the black tipped look and the golden like "greatest hits".
Everyone knows the German shepherd as a cop
But who knows the Hungarian Puli as a sheep herders mop?
The Irish Wolfhound is the gentle giant of breed
Put one next to a Japanese Chin and you'll see what I mean.
The ears of a Keeshond are pricked to profection
While those of a Leonberger make a floppy projection.
The Mastiff from Britian travled with hunters as their greatest supplies
And the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever played in Canada as his name implies.
The Old English sheepdog gaurded his flock throughout the night
While the Pharaoh hound gaurded the souls of the dead with all his might.
The Quail dog is commonly called the German spaniel who was used to hunt fox and hare
The Rhodesian Ridgeback was known as the Lion dog fore he hunted lions without a care.
The Shar-Pei was bred to fight other dogs and to hunt wild boar
While the Tibetan spaniel was bred to be put on a lap for those to adore.
The Ulma dog is known as the Great Dane, he hunted boar to quite an extent
The Vallhund was from Sweden who herded cattle which made time well spent.
The Weimaraner is a German native who sports a silver ghostly mixture
While the Xoloitzeuintli or Mexican Hairless lives up to his name in a blady picture.
The Yorkshire from England is a terrier of silky-smooth hair
While the Zande dog called Besenji is a hound from Africa with a short-haird affair.
Now remember the breeds of "man's best friend" for the next time you forget your letters
And soon you'll be wanting a pair of those gorgeous Irish setters.

Well I enjoyed this for the simple fact I work with animals, and it's impressive that you know something about breeds most people have never even heard of. So kudos for that! I don't view this as much of a poem though...I do see you kept a rhyme scheme going, but still I see this as more of a 'memory list' you drew up to remember the breeds, rather than a traditional poem. (Basically what you said in your note...) There were several spelling errors throughout this write, none of which were any of the dog breeds...Just simple things; "Britain", "Travelled", "Guarded..." So just give your next write a thorough once over next time before posting, or better yet, click "yes" for the moderators to double check for you...Keep up the writes!
