21 Questions

Contributed by hauntedscorp on Tuesday, 12th July 2005 @ 03:03:14 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Ever peer into your soul and find nothing?

Arrive at the table with zero to bring?

Set your sights on something you could not see?

Clutch onto something only to set it free?

Take a stab at peace and feel ill at ease?

Ponder a possibility, but never seize?

Lie to yourself because it's the easiest route to take?

Live in a dream when you're wide awake?

Question yourself, wonder when things got out of hand?

Tried to ask for something politely, but out comes a demand?

Searched someones eyes for meaning, only to find a void?

Attempt to make a persons day, only to make them annoyed?

Stared out your window and wished yourself away?

Told someone to leave when you really want them to stay?

Thought back---disgusted---over something you said?

Longed to hear words that you actually dread?

Waited for a phone call that you'll never receive?

Fell in love with an idea that you don't even believe?

Think you're sure of who you are, only to discover you're not?

Desperate to get your point across, but get lost in thought?

(Hmmm...let's see, is there anything I forgot?)

can i see the answer key to this?

when i read the first lines to be honest i started rolling my eyes thinking "great another question poem" because i think sometimes people get carried away with putting rhetorical questions into their works. You did a good job with this and by the time i got down to the last questions you actually had me dwelling on a number of these. i dont know what your intended effect on the reader was if any, but i think this is a really cool poem.

interesting poem. i think with the question format that you used, that 21 questions was a little to much. i really enjoyed it when i first started, i thought it was creative and refreshing. but then it just droned on and on.
4/5
nice work though :)

Scorp, I thought this was extroadinary!
You get so sucked in by all the
questions that you almost have
to remind yourself to keep reading
instead of trying to answer them
or recall instances in your life
where these events actually took place.
Bravo! Two thumbs up.

~Blue~

Hey that was great. Sounds like you had a bad day! I love how it is somewhat contradicting. Some of those apply. I think a lot of them apply to different people, everyone can relate in a way. Very creative style. I really enjoyed that Scorp.
