Shadows

Contributed by Maxximus on Tuesday, 12th July 2005 @ 10:25:22 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Sitting there
Staring over the fields as they fell into the sky
Watching the endless beauty melt into the aether
Beholding everything that was beyond oneself

Look through yourself
...We live with every breath...
Listen
...Hear voices on ageless winds...

In the absolution of self we find separation
Freedom from motives less than pure
Intentions short of personal satisfaction
From such liberation we may see with clarity
We may feel the truth

It was the stars that revealed such realities
Falling as celestial tears, their streaks burning away the night
It was the hand of God that moved such veils

The shining star of humanity burned in turn
The communal voice of eternity rang
The heavens revealed darker things
Reflected by the nature of man

The reflection once seen startles the beholder
Things left to dreams filters through his soul
In truth there is always weakness
But to believe in it’s merit and pursuit
To hold righteous it’s path
Is greater strength than the shadows that dance

Wow! This is an awesome piece of poetry...People really slept on this one, what a shame! Love the vivid imagery and thought process going on in this intricate write. I didn't find it really 'dark' per se, more of a deep, inner vision. Excellent job. Keep it up!!

I like this. Your words flow with the wisdom of one who has told this story before.
