Paradise Lost

Topic: selfstruggles

You can say what you want
I have heard it all before
I use to believe
I use to have dreams
but now I don't care anymore.
I am just a number
a cog in the machine
always in motion
and going no where fast
I'm stuck in the routine.

Just a face in the crowd
I smile a little but I usually frown
I never get what I need
rarely do I get what I want
and pleasure is not aloud.
A broken drum keeps a beat
I dance but I don't feel,
deadman walking
with eyes wide open
forever hopin'
but never knowing what is real.

All my friends are gone
I got a heart of stone
genesis won't be revisted
I'm so damaged and twisted
I like being alone.
so you can say what you want
we're all just numbers in lifes sad game
you can get down on your knees and beg and plead
but very little is gonna change.

Conflict of Interest and blind ambition
on a mission with no permission
burning
so deep into my mind
and I can not break free
from this routine
of pain and misery.

well said. i loved the title. this does need a bit more punctuation with this though. your last stanza is the best, as it should be. i liked how it referred back to the first stanza, because that was also a good stanza.

Meagan writes:>

Who sleeps in a world of dreaming reality, are you alone? No, there is such a thing, know this, once upon no time, there was and is no end, a rise, known to only believers, is the greatest dream which has come, we are, He is, trust, the dream has always been, placed, no beginning, no end, infinitely a trueness from the one who tapped the souls, his children, born of reason, as perfect as eternal birth has been forever, no beginning birth needed, it has been always, and ever shall be, as is the truth who created it:>
