Lost Identity

Contributed by usualbeauty on Monday, 11th July 2005 @ 05:56:59 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Look into the eyes of this broken being
Through the appearance in which you only think that you're seeing
A girl in control of this life that she's leading
Disguising a crooked sense of pride left bleeding
Out of the scars slain accross flesh to remind her
Of a time seemed so masked by reality's blur
Lost in the moment forever engraved in her mind
Wishing for miracles if only a chance to rewind
To a present that lacks a shivering spine
When ever word spoken doesn't seem like a line
Of deciet drenched in lies leaving you to believe
That nothing and no one is what they all seem
It's hard to believe that after all these years
You've yet to come to terms with all of your fears
Of finding yourself whether broken or strong
Of finding your own identity where only you can belong

I know all too well, as I am sure many others do, about what it feels like when everything seems like a lie no matter how bad you want to believe it. Very nice poem.
