Pry your fingers off me
Let my skin breathe again
Give me back my purity
Let me go
Give me back my clothes
Let my body be mine again
I'll make sure no one knows
Let me go
And no one will hear of this
Let me live my life again
Give me back my innocence
Let me go
I want to escape
Let me be free once again
From the nightmares that followed my rape

| certainly isnt your best, but it still speaks to me, and that gives it quality. im not one that really cares for repetition, so thats all that irked me. you may have lost your innocence, but that shouldnt be the cause of you losing anything more, of course growth is hard, moving on is hard, forgiving is extremely hard, but all must be done, or this demon will never go away. this of course was a good poem, better than most that i read today, and its good to read poems that meet my standards. i hope that you keep struggling to finally have the future you want, and that you let the past go. ::notices that this is the most compassionate comment ever made:: =] |
