A bad moon rises
Dark calls one hundred eyes to its unknown
Life, however, goes on unrelenting
Everyone has earned their calling except one
One stays until his dues are paid, not long now for him
His inner legs still churning
Still finding new ground to tread
He cannot lend his eyes until the trek is over, not long now for him
Life and death are nothing now, to him tonight is all that presides
Soon he will stop fighting, but day must keep him now, he’s getting closer
Maybe the journey won’t end tonight, but not for lack of trying
Like a seed too big for its apple, he finds alternate means
The confusion is part of the question, as it is part of the answer
He contemplates both while focusing on neither
Searching for the course though it never existed
In this way, he still has not earned his keep, almost
