It's All Black and White

Contributed by Tanna on Thursday, 9th January 2003 @ 08:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

Onyx Queen
Ivory Knight
Opposite sides of the board

Playing for keep
The price is steep
Who's heart will be pierced by the sword?

Cunning minds
Ties that bind
It becomes a battleground

For what was once yearned
Was now easily spurned
The effect was quite profound

Pawns were taken
Souls were shaken
The Queen abandoned the rook

For lost love she will now grieve
She wore her heart on her sleeve
To see it, one only had to look

In this game of chess
Her rank and position had become less
She realized this a moment to late

Lost the battle to the Knight
He turns to another tonight
For him, checkmate.
