Dear God ( A Prayer )

Contributed by vox on Sunday, 10th July 2005 @ 10:57:44 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

Lord,
I hope yoy don’t listen to what we say
For whatever mistake is happening
Its our fault that it came that way.

Its not your fault
For the destruction on earth.
The blame is ours,
For not giving it the attention its worth.

Sir,
You gave us the choice
To live our life with love.
But we preferred to fill the void
With corruption and with lust.

The war, the thirst, the hunger.
All these that make us wonder:
“how did we kill this world of pure?
-Because we ask and crave for more.-

Dear God
I now do pray:
Please guide our children on their way.
Help them to escape the shame
That’s haunting us in everyday.

You know it is nice that we don't have to carry the guilt of this anymore. That by the blood of the cross we are forgiven. We can pray for our children and grand children and so forth and know that by that prayer God will protect and guide them. GREAT WRITE... sandy

This poem makes me smile, but then again anything that reminds me of such Love makes me smile. Well done.
