Old Friend, New Stranger

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You have transformed, wow
You are a new stranger now

Gone from old friend to new stranger
And filled me with all of my anger

We were once best friends
Said we would be until the end

Holding each other into the night
Saying everything would be all right

Comforting each other with soft words
Listening to the beautiful birds

It has all grown cold
And to you, probably, old

Everything that you once said
Is now floating around in my head

Everything you said about me and you
Had always seemed so true

Promising that until the end
We would always be friends

But now I looked at you
I don’t know what to do

You have transformed and left me
You hurt me and left me feeling deceived

So now when I look at you
I know the old you isn’t true

Gone from old friend to new stranger
And filled me with all of my anger

Good poem. Alot of emotion in this one, too. Nice rhyme scheme. I haven't seen that type of rhyme scheme since Skunk wrote songs for Sin's Perfection instead of Zach. lol But really, that is a good poem. Keep writing and don't let some former friend take you down under.
Peace,
Bones

When a relationship ends there has to be (at least for a time) some distance so that time can do what it does best---helping us to move on.

Yet this gives me something to ponder on the very realistic scenario where an old friend becomes a new stranger. It seems inevitable.

This one goes straight to the heart.
