Picture Perfect Me

I am a walking picture.
Perfect like you want me to be.
I bought a mask, made out of clay
I wear it always, everyday.
I made it just the way you wanted,
I used an artists rule of thumb:
I didn't trace my past,
I outlined a future,
But I did it with a razor blade
To make it last.
I shaded in my eyes
And colored all the lies,
So you'd view me as a masterpiece.
I made myself to fit your standards,
Glued my teeth together and erased my tounge,
So I don't speak depressing words.
With my tears used as pain,
The final touch I pile
As I cover up my face with a painted smile.
Keeping my techniques confidential
I lock the tears, razor blades and blood
Inside my heart,
The three utensils that made me
A work of art.
I am a walking picture,
From what you see.

The ending is supposed to be:
I am a walking picture,
Perfect like you want me to be.
From what you see,
I'm picture perfect me.
lol I don't know what happened... oh well. |

you know, i really like that you put it on The poems of beauty subject. imagery is really good.
good word usage. i think it would may be a bit better if it were rhymed. but its still a good write nontheless.

You of all people should know that I accept you exactly the way that you are, and would never expect a mask out of you. In fact... I can't stand when you put that mask on. Maybe some day you'll let yourself break through that mask because the real you doesn't deserve to be hidden. No one does. *hugs*
