Poured his soul out
through the trumpet
A sweet, smooth syrup
felt in your veins
As the moon rocks
you slowly
back and forth
You always knew
she was
your mother
And now the saxophone
pulling you away
from all the chaos
Isn't it so soft?
Isn't it so tender?
It understands
you
It takes you back home
Whatever that means
Don't let the drums
disturb your journey
They're simply there
to remind you
of the bumpy ride
And why when the
jazzmen have to
stop playing
It doesn't take much
to make you smile

Angelica,
you've captured the essence of the experience so well; the intense, inner change, the synchrony felt with all the parts of the music and its contributors and the lingering influence on the moment on other moments. Your fluid construction, with staccato bumps and all, perfectly mirrors the subject matter.
I very much enjoyed this one, and felt it in my veins, as you meant it to.
