Precious Time

Contributed by SereneSea16 on Thursday, 9th January 2003 @ 01:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The ghosts of ancient loves, haunting the memory of time once so brilliant and true
Faded now by worn gray stone, covered in petals long since wilted by death's hoary hand
Breath fading on the wind, gentle sigh of autumn leaves rustling bare on cold cobblestone
Stars misplaced, clouds blown away, no reprieve from the sun when there is no rain
Tomorrow's gone, the wind blown past, the siren's call of loneliness haunts the sky
Timidly does time resume, a crystalline pause on the brink of winter
It gains speed, galloping by, leaving a broken man behind
Silvery song, haunting notes, gentle breath of years long past
Black shroud, gentle mist, time is hazy at its best
Roses fall in sweet surrender to the melody of anguish bare in dull blue eyes
And fire consumes all with its smoky breath
Leaving time still in one ringing note
Where all is reminiscent of starry skies on clear dark nights
And your lips meet mine in the ecstasy of purity
And our undying love
And leaves rustle on bare cold cobblestone
Next to the broken body of a man
Who has just remembered how to fly
Evermore in the arms of his beautiful beloved.
