LoveRemembered

Ten years.
For ten years I have wandered.
I have walked the Arizona sky.
I have hidden beneath blue mountains,
black rivers running rabid;
a mad dog searching for nothing.
I have met so many beautiful people.
I have watched those people fall apart,
wither, and fade.
I have sat idle, watching brothers stab their arms,
I have laughed with them, got high with them,
loved them, and watched them die.
For ten years I have done nothing.
I have made love to the most beautiful of women.
I have held them in my bed, on floors, in cars,
whispered flowers, lies, and tears;
I have colored, clenched, and sucked the summer fields,
the red red love of their love.
I have argued love (true love),
I have spit my vomit in the
most beautiful of women.
I have crushed them, broken them,
called them liar, ***** and whore.
For ten years I have loved and did not love.
And today, I have begun.
Today is the saddest day of my life.
Today I love.
Today I will not stand by,
I will not let her die.
Today I will not argue love,
because I am unsure
because I am afraid
because I find myself laughing
like I've never laughed before.

Well now, that was a powerful piece of work, raw and heartfelt, but with truly excellent language. Highly poetic, this is certainly one of the best I have read recently.
