Blinding Sunlight

Contributed by afraid_of_fear on Friday, 8th July 2005 @ 06:51:30 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Can you see me?
I'm sat here in the sunrise
No more tears in my eyes
Smiling, dancing

Look at me!
Everything is going right
As the sun goes up in the sky

I'm talking, to you, and them
I'm so much more aware of the world
I've unfurled
The sun is at its highest point
And all the shadows are so small
So short

And yet I'm caught
Awake, alive, but still so scared

I'm alone, and it doesn't matter what you say
The sun is blinding, so hot
Burning down;
I'm caught between the sun and the shadows

Scars jump out at me, winking
Tempting
As everything is going so well
New chances, new choices

Lost voices and empty hearts
Afraid to fall apart, again
Someone hold me

It can't start all over again

well..if you haven't written in a long time, it's certainly not noticable, this is a very nice write and you are obviously very talented with words. Great write...don't ever stop writing, even when you have nothing to write about, that's usually when you come up with your best ideas. Keep it up!

Wow great poem Charlotte I am amazed at
how much I can relate to this at the moment.
A great poem and I just love how you started
it off and how it ended and I just loved it all. I
hope you start writing and posting more
since you are a great writer.
