The Controlling Lover

The Controlling Lover

I remember how we met when you saved me from a fight
Little did I know the war was yet to come
You seemed to care, no more hate
Until you cursed and shouted my name
They all said you weren't for me
Why oh why did I close my ears?
I couldn't see, no I wouldn't see
How much control you had over me.
With threats of using your blades
I'd give in and go to bed
Soon I discovered the work of the weasel
Telling you I needed sleep when in truth I needed to escape the fearful silence
But oh when you found out
You'd scream and yell as a lion roars
I constantly would cry as a kitten cries for mom
In despare and hope we would soon meet
And then the anger would sease to exist.
The so called love were blinders for my eyes
Until my friends removed them I couldn't see them
I was their calf and they the herd
They circled me with support and protection
And eased me into realization
You weren't for me, you never were
It wouldn't get better anymore
The love was fake, was never there
It was lust I had, lust for someone to care
And now you're gone away from me
Making yourself believe it was always me
Like I was the one who destroyed the night
Well that ain't right
You must see the reason I tell
That you belong in ....

Loved it! this is an excellent poem and I only comment on the poems I like. It's an excellent concept! I know how u feel I really do. Just remember that you should never say I love you until you mean it!
